MATH
We have started learning multiplication! The strategies we've learned this week are using equal groups and repeated addition. Next week we'll be learning about using arrays.
READING
Our mentor text next week is the story Night Tree by Eve Bunting. We'll be practicing finding the Main Idea + Details in a story.
WRITING
We are learning about Information Texts. Students have chosen a holiday that they celebrate, or want to learn more about, to research and write an informative piece about. We're currently in the drafting stage!
SCIENCE/SOCIAL STUDIES
We've started a new Science investigation: Pebbles, Sand, and Silt. Our focus questions this week are:
What happens when you rub rocks together?
What happens when you submerge rocks in water?
We're focusing on the rock types: basalt, scoria, and tuff.
