We're on Unit 2: Addition + Subtraction. We're working on subtraction and are working on subtracting across zeros. Next week we'll hit on adding and subtracting with missing minuends and addends
READING
We are working on comparing and contrasting two texts. We'll be using quite a few media sources to do this (books, videos, articles, etc.) so we won't have a specific mentor text. A great way to practice this skill is by reading different versions of the same folktale or fairytale and having your connect similarities and differences! We'll be working on this skill through the month of December with both Fiction and Nonfiction.
WRITING
We've been hard at work on our informational texts, and students are writing their first informational pieces on a holiday of their choice. We're wrapping up editing and ready to hit PUBLISHING next week!
SCIENCE
We're learning about how snowflakes are formed and all about how special and unique each one is!
