MATH
We finished our Chapter 4 test on bar models today, and will not be starting a new unit until after Thanksgiving Break. Next week we will be reviewing concepts.
READING
Our mentor text next week is the classic folktale, Stone Soup by Marcia Brown. We'll be reviewing what strong, "soup"-er sentences look like, brushing up on our capitalization, punctuation, and word choice.
This week we also read the story Turkey Trouble by Wendi Silvano. Students brought home plain turkeys and their job is to disguise him to keep him from being someone's Thanksgiving dinner! Feel free to use items around the house to glue on, draw/color, and get creative!! Please return your disguised turkeys by TUESDAY for our turkey party!
*NO Book in a Bag next week due to the shortened week!
WRITING
We are practicing opinion/persuasive writing through book reviews! Each day we have a new read aloud, and students review the book in their journals using our OREO stragegy.
SCIENCE/SOCIAL STUDIES
We will study Native Americans next week!
