After reading this, please take a minute to sit down and flip through the packet I sent home with your child today detailing how this will work! If your child was absent today, you can see a PDF file of the packet in our Resources tab or by clicking HERE! :)
We're doing a "flipped classroom" approach, meaning students will watch the instructional videos at home each week and practice, then do extra practice in the classroom. The reason behind this is to increase their technology skills, encourage responsibility and time-management, and to have MORE time to practice at home that they wouldn't have time for in the classroom. The videos are normally 10-18 minutes long and students need time to pause and practice, so please allow 30 minutes (minimum) per week for this at home. You can break it up by doing one or two letters a night, or do it all in one. Whatever you choose, it must be completed and practice pages must be returned by THURSDAY of each week. Same day as their book in a bag! :) The weekly cursive blogpost will be sent out on Friday, so they will have six days to complete the checklist below.
Each week your child will:
1. Watch the entire cursive instructional video
2. Practice on paper WHILE watching/pausing the video, then bring in that practice paper by Thursday
3. Leave a comment on our weekly cursive blogpost. (Comment can be: their favorite letter, toughest letter, a question, etc.)
Students who complete that checklist above ON TIME at least 11 out of 13 weeks will get to participate in an ICE CREAM PARTY!
*I've included in your information packet paper you can copy/use at home. I will have some available at school as well for your child to take home, too.
*If your child does not have internet access at home, please let me know as soon as possible so we can arrange an accomodation.
Here is week ONE! Get your pencil and paper ready! Don't forget to have your child leave a comment below when they're finished!
