MATH
We have been working on all things place value, comparing numbers, and order & patterns in numbers. Building our number sense foundation is so important before we jump to newer things! Next week we are having two math workshop days to review all of our skills and concepts for the chapter and planning to take our first test on Thursday.
READING
We've been practicing making connections while we read, whether it be a text to self, text to text, or text to world connection. Today we took our first theme test and are jumping into theme 2 Monday! Theme 2 is titled "My Family". We will be reviewing making connections and learning how to create images in our heads while we read.
WRITING
In Writing, we are working on creating our own Personal Narratives and each student will be working on their piece for the next two weeks!
SCIENCE
We have been learning ALL about the Scientific Method and how we, as scientists, study the incredible world around us! We've practiced asking questions, making a hypothesis, planning and testing an experiment, and recording data. This means our 2K scientists are soon to be ready for our first big science unit: Insects!
