Not only is it Friday, but it's a 3 day weekend, so ENJOY! We've been busy this week...
Math:
We have continued focusing on subtraction with regrouping this week! It's a tough concept to learn, but 2K has been working SO hard. Next week, we are continuing in subtraction with regrouping with subtracting numbers across zeros and reviewing.
Reading:
We are learning how to determine importance while we read, meaning that we are focusing on identifying details in a text that are important, while recognizing other details that are not important, but interesting. Knowing this reading skill is vital for knowing how to identify main idea and details of a text!
Writing:
We are continuing to focus on nonfiction texts. Next week, 2K students will be digging into their very own nonfiction reports on a planet in our Solar System!
Science:
We have continued focusing on the Solar System and the kids have not lacked a piece of excitement. They have been loving learning all about space. We are also patiently awaiting our chrysalis to transform into butterflies so they can be released. Next week, we will be continuing learning about the Solar System.
MYSTERY READERS: We had our first mystery reader last week! Thank you Mrs. Bloms! *photos below* :) If you're interested in being one, too, send me an email!
