MATH
We've been digging into metric measurement! We've learned how to measure in meters and centimeters AND compare measurements. If you have a ruler at home, go on a measurement scavenger hunt! Can you find things that are 5 cm? 10 cm? 20 cm? We're planning to have our test NEXT Friday.
READING
We have been practicing how to monitor our understanding of a text by rereading, asking ourselves questions, and thinking about the meaning of the words. We've also been focusing a lot on verbs, taking a look at action verbs versus linking verbs. Next week, we are going to be learning/reviewing how to make connections as we read.
WRITING
We are focusing on persuasive writing this week, reading books to introduce the topic such as I Wanna Iguana, Hey Little Ant, and The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs. Students completed their very first HyperDoc this week and loved it! If you'd like to see what a HyperDoc is, look at the "Tech!" tab on our website. Each box has a task for them to watch/complete. (These HyperDocs are to be done at school, not at home, but feel free to look through them!)
SCIENCE
We are focused on magnetism! Next week be on the look out for some experiments!
SOCIAL STUDIES
We will be studying Martin Luther King, Jr. and his incredible impact on humanity next week!
