Math
We have started customary measurement in Math, so we're focusing in on measuring with inches and feet. Next week we will dive into comparing measurements and using measurement in real-world problems!
Reading
We are continuing Theme 15, "The Wonderful Changes of Water", and learning how to summarize what we read. This is a great skill to practice at home! Have your child summarize using our "Somebody Wanted But So Then" strategy with a chapter they read or a book they read.
Writing
We are finishing our Fiction story writing unit this week. To celebrate, we will have a writing celebration on Monday where we share our stories! Students MUST have their stories completed when they come into the classroom Monday morning to take part in the celebration. This means some kids may have to take home their stories over the weekend if they are not finished by the end of the day today (Friday). Please check with them tonight! :)
Science
We've been learning all about recycling and the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling. Next week we will be learning about weather.
**IMPORTANT: We will be taking our field trip on Tuesday morning, so please be sure your child brings a sack lunch that day if you didn't send in a form to have the school make one.**
