For our spelling sentences on Friday, we are focusing on a word pattern. We talk about many words that fit that word pattern. Our goal as a second grade team is have our students apply what they know about that word pattern to a sentence. Because of this, a few extra words that follow the pattern may be on the spelling sentences on Friday because we want students to hear the word and associate it with the word pattern that is our weekly focus. The students WILL have seen every word on the spelling sentences throughout the week at some point. There will also be review words from past spelling sentences on the test.
Words on next week's spelling sentence test:
choke, ate, cake, father, game, late, tribe, did, cute, hop
Math
We will be taking two days for workshop days/reviewing our first chapter before our test on Thursday.
Writing
We will be beginning Personal Narratives.
Science
We will be continuing our insect unit and diving into butterflies.
On a super exciting note, we had our FIRST MYSTERY READER today!! Thank you, Mrs. T for coming in! The kids had so much fun with it and talked about it the rest of the day! We love having the opportunity to invite parents and families into our classroom and see what we're up to. Mrs. T read the kids If You Give a Moose a Muffin. It was clearly a class favorite! Thanks again!
