We're wrapping up our introductory to fractions unit and starting up with telling time next week!
READING
Our mentor text next week will be That's What Leprechauns Do by Eve Bunting. Click the link to watch a virtual reading of the story with your child! See if they can spot our vocab words in the story next week. We'll be using this story to learn how to break apart story elements (characters, plot, problem/solution).
WRITING
The students are finishing up their personification poetry. They have gotten really into this project and are so proud of the work they've accomplished. Most students are wrapping up editing and onto publishing, so once they're finished they will have the option to perform a reading of their poem to another class.
SCIENCE
We're watching our mealworms turn to beetles. The students will also be learning about different habitats throughout the month of March! We're also going to begin growing brassica seeds to learn about the needs of plants (hopefully starting next week).
