Next we will get into exploring fractions. The students will be identifying fractions, comparing fractions, and adding and subtracting like fractions. One night that you are enjoying a pizza with your family ask you child some fraction questions! Great discussion to have at the dinner table!
READING
March is finally here! Who-Hoo! The first mentor text we will be exploring is Library Lion by Michelle Knudson. The students will be focusing on character's feelings and how illustrations can affect the mood of the story. Please have your child click on the link above to get a head start on reading Library Lion! It is a great read!
WRITING
The students are wrapping up with their different styles of poetry. We will be putting all our poems together to create a poetry booklet.
SCIENCE
We're watching our mealworms turn to beetles. The students will also be learning about different habitats throughout the month of March! The students will be able to see what animals live in each part and we will wrap on the unit by having a room transformation of each habitat. Please be on the look out for any supplies that may need to be donated to make that experience come to life for your child! Stay tuned!
