WELCOME BACK! It's a new year & new class, which means it's time to set new goals and reach new heights! Let's do this 2K!
Our weekly newsletter, or "Adventure Journal" will be here on the blog. Every Friday I'll send the link straight to your inbox. This newsletter will contain what we've done that week in 2K, and what to look forward to next week. I'll be including our weekly spelling pattern and sight words for the upcoming week and other important information to look forward to. Students love to see parents comment encouragement on the blogposts, so feel free to leave them some love below!
IMPORTANT INFO
- Please fill out THIS FORM HERE when you get a chance (if you haven't already). It will help me understand your hopes and expectations for the year as well as give me important information.
- Don't forget to sign and return your child's permission slip to watch the solar eclipse Monday! Parents are free to come and watch with their child (no fingerprinting/background check necessary). If you would like to, please email me at [email protected] for more information.
- Back to School Night is Monday, August 21st at 6:30 pm. This is for parents ONLY, so please have other arrangements for your children. It's very important you attend, as I'll be sharing our expectations and important information for the year with you. See you then!
Reading Next week will be learning how to make connections while we read, while also continuing to build our reading stamina. We'll be starting our weekly picture book study. We will be learning about simple sentences and making sure our sentences are grammatically correct when writing, meaning we have all the right parts included. Writing Next week we'll be starting writing bootcamp! We'll learn all about the writing process and will be brushing up on our handwriting before we dive into our first piece. |
Math Next week we will be starting to learn how Math Workshop works in our classroom. We'll be setting up and organizing our interactive notebooks, learning to use technologies in the classroom, and learning how to handle manipulatives. Science Next week we will dive into the scientific method and learn how scientists learn & discover! -ch, -ph, -th, -sh Sight Words our, hill, watch, sister, fun |
